ACT Natural Resource Management Plan

The Council has released a new draft ACT Natural Resource Management Plan Bush Capital Legacy . Until this draft plan is finalised by the Council the 2004 version below remains in place.

The ACT Natural Resource Management Plan has been produced by the ACT Natural Resource Management Board, in consultation with the community, to meet the requirements of the Bilateral Agreement for the delivery of the Natural Heritage Trust. It provides a strategic framework for natural resource management activities and investment in the ACT and surrounding region. The Plan was accredited in May 2004 as meeting the nationally agreed criteria for regional plans by:

  • the Australian Government Minister for the Environment and Heritage, the Honourable Dr David Kemp MP;
  • the Australian Government Mininster for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, the Honourable Mr Warren Truss MP; and
  • the ACT Chief Minister and Minister for the Environment Mr Jon Stanhope MLA.

Molonglo Catchment Group

Molonglo Catchment Group
The Molonglo Catchment Group works largely in NSW and covers the catchments of the Molonglo and Queanbeyan Rivers, Jerrabomberra Creek and the urban areas of inner Canberra and Queanbeyan.

Ginninderra Catchment Group

The Ginninderra Catchment Group works in the urban areas of Belconnen, West Belconnen, Hall, Gunghalin, and the rural areas and nature reserves of the Ginninderra Creek catchment.

Southern ACT Catchment Group
The Southern ACT Catchment Group operates in the southern areas of the ACT covering Woden, Weston Creek, Tuggeranong, Tharwa, Tidbinbilla and Namadgi national parks, and the rural leases.
