
Southern ACT Catchment Group
The Southern ACT Catchment Group operates in the southern areas of the ACT covering Woden, Weston Creek, Tuggeranong, Tharwa, Tidbinbilla and Namadgi national parks, and the rural leases. The group is a leader in keeping communication channels between the community and government open.
Southern ACT Catchment Group supports groups interested in the environment, helping in their development and operation; providing assistance with project ideas, management and funding opportunities; and providing a community forum for ideas and discussion. Examples of issues being addressed:
- community building
- biodiversity protection
- riparian plantings
- weed management
- soil health
- water quality
- European and Indigenous cultural heritage
- turning around native vegetation loss
- reducing or mitigating urban land degradation.
