2010 National Landcare Forum

A national forum for landcare and related community groups will be held at the Adelaide Racecourse (also known as Allan Scott Park), Morphettville, Adelaide, South Australia 22-25 March 2010.

The theme of the 2010 forum is ‘Landcare celebrates – 20 years of achievements and future challenges’.

Council Communiqué

After each meeting the Council reports to the ACT community on its activities and deliberations.

Council last met on 3 August 2010 and some of the issues discussed included:

a presentation by Greening Australia Capital Region on their achievements with regional funding and the future challenges they perceive for their organisation

a presentation on the vegetation monitoring manual step-by-step guide prepared by Greening Australia (Capital Region) and the ACT Department of Territory and Municipal Services

planning for the preparation of the Caring for our Country Regional Investment for 2011-12 and 2012-13

proposed strategic assessment of turbidity in the Upper Murrumbidgee catchment

Molonglo Catchment Group

The Molonglo Catchment Group works largely in NSW and covers the catchments of the Molonglo and Queanbeyan Rivers, Jerrabomberra Creek and the urban areas of inner Canberra and Queanbeyan.

Ginninderra Catchment Group

The Ginninderra Catchment Group works in the urban areas of Belconnen, West Belconnen, Hall, Gunghalin, and the rural areas and nature reserves of the Ginninderra Creek catchment.

Southern ACT Catchment Group

The Southern ACT Catchment Group operates in the southern areas of the ACT covering Woden, Weston Creek, Tuggeranong, Tharwa, Tidbinbilla and Namadgi national parks, and the rural leases.
